Rahsaan Patterson Drops A New Single “Sent From Heaven”

by amc

Rahsaan Patterson has one of the most distinctive voices ever. That tenor of his is insane. There’s no mistaking it. As soon as he opens his mouth, the gloriousness that follows through is soul-stirring and that will never change.

He’s one of the R&B/soul (jazz, electronica and funk influenced as well) singers who always pays homage to those before him. Through his vocality, his techniques, his songwriting and lyricism. You can tell that his spirit moves him from deep down when he brings a song to life. And from jump, I’ve loved hearing him flourish as an artist.

Patterson says:

In creating ‘Sent From Heaven,’ I was reminded of how I have been schooled by all the greats and how grateful I am to have been schooled by them. Some songs might have a melody but how many will truly resonate with us 40 years later? As a songwriter and artist, it is important to insert that part of my creativity.

Patterson is celebrating 35 years in the entertainment industry and over the years, he’s garnered much love and admiration from Lalah Hathaway, Ledisi, Chaka Khan and Van Hunt to name a few. From his stellar self-titled album to his latest single “Sent From Heaven”, Patterson’s music has a little something for everyone to enjoy.

“Sent From Heaven” is a smokey joint with an influence from yesteryear that gives me all the feels. However, Patterson always comes with the real when he releases music. This is certainly no different. Leading into the release of his new album Heros & Gods on May 17, 2019, which will be released by Shanachie Entertainment, the single continues to shine the light on Patterson’s talent and mastery. Best believe I’m sure the album will as well.

Now, this is an album that I look forward to hearing.

The single will be available on March 22nd for purchase and streaming on all of your favourite outlets.

See y’all soon…
