Saidah Baba Talibah Is Campaigning For Her “RedBlack & Blue”

I’ve spoken about this ‘rawk’star plenty of times over and shared her music with you over on my fan and personal pages on Facebook. If you haven’t seen Saidah Baba Talibah live as yet, you are doing a disservice to your concert regimen. And if you haven’t picked up any of her mixtapes, or her last rock/soul/funk album (S)Cream, it’s never too late to pick up the good stuff. As a matter of fact, here’s one of my favourite tracks from the album just to give you a taste. It’s called “Do It” and it happens to be one of my personal anthems that I play quite often.

Now with that said, let’s talk about Saidah’s upcoming project and venture. This eclectic and energetic fireball is working on 3 EP’s and her new album RedBlack&Blue and she’s asking for your help. Her last foray into crowdsourcing was a successful one, so with fans like that you really can’t go wrong. This time around, Saidah is over on PledgeMusic with a bevy of entertaining Pledge Pluses. When was the last time you had a midnight bike ride with an artist you admire and respect? Better yet, wouldn’t you want to tell everyone that the roof of your house was blown off by the acoustic house set that Saidah Baba Talibah did in your living room?  And to go one step further, 10% of all the proceeds raised will go to Alzheimer Society of Canada. Saidah’s mother is the Grammy Nominated jazz siren, Broadway slayer, and Canada’s First Lady of Blues –  Salome Bey. Salome was unfortunately diagnosed with dementia and since this album is partly inspired by her mother, you can imagine how important this cause is to Saidah.

So – there you have it! Saidah Baba Talibah is celebrating the important females in her life through her artistry –  her mother, her sister and her daughter. What an amazing gift to share with loved ones. And not just her female inspirations, but her rawkstars too. So get involved! Every little bit counts for Saidah and for a cause that millions of people deal with every day. I know she would love to have your support in any way possible.

You can find Saidah’s pledge page right here. Get to pledging!
