On August 8th, Manifesto announced their 2016 artist and arts lineup for their 10 year anniversary. 10 years? That’s big and definitely worthy of a celebration. Now, if you’re not up on what Manifesto is about, here’s a little background info.
Manifesto is known as one of Toronto’s premiere music festivals that runs from September 9-18. They celebrate art, culture, music and community in a huge way with the assistance of artists, activists and creatives. It’s proud to be tagged as “a major festival, built by young people, to unite, inspire and empower (…) through arts and culture.”
Since 2007, Manifesto created a platform in the city that has seen a slew of artists take the stage like Melanie Fiona, Phonte, Roy Ayers, Shad, Tanika Charles, SZA, Rakim and dozens more. Not only does this festival breathe a certain life into Toronto’s already vibrant pulse, but the many facets of culture, music and especially the community, shine bright around this time every year.
For their 10th anniversary, Manifesto is going all out and at Echo Beach with fan favourites Kaytranada and Anderson.Paak on the same bill!! That seems to be the tip of the iceberg since we have been warned there is more to be announced. And that’s just the musical portion of it all. There are the dance showcase, art exhibits and their signature massive free concert to take into account as well. Be on your P’s and q’s, people. It’s going to be a fantastic celebration.
Tickets have already gone on sale for the Echo Beach bonanza. In the meantime, you can find Manifesto on the following social spots:
