Home Ear To The Ground (S)Cream With Saidah Baba Talibah!

(S)Cream With Saidah Baba Talibah!

by amc

I have neglected you and I apologize PROFUSELY!

I dare not look at the last date of the previous entry. I just won’t do it. Know that I am back on the pulse of things (at least I like to think I am) and I promise not to stay away that long again. With that said, I have come forth with one hell of an artist for you to check out.

I had the privilege of seeing Saidah Baba Talibah perform in October, last year. Let me tell you, the woman is a whirlwind on stage. I became a fan instantaneously. Not to mention, she comes complete with a kick-ass band, dope lyrics and one serious set of pipes.  And I will of course not forget to mention, she hails from the wonderful country of Canada. Toronto, Ontario to be exact. Her first video “Place Called Grace” is a juke joint ready, gutsy attack on your soul from the first note. You can’t help but succumb to her will.  Listening to her album “(S)Cream”, I noticed that there is a beautiful ying and yang to Saidah. With every gruff and raspy attack, there is a gentle coo and wispy air that follows. Saidah already has Canada on lock, now she is getting ready to infiltrate the U.S. and I personally think she has it in the bag and then some. Interested in getting to know more about Saidah and her phenomenal album “(S)Cream?”  Well, you’re in luck.

Take a peek into the world of Saidah Baba Talibah, in this 3-EPK video set. Each titled appropriately, you get to learn about her musical journey, being the daughter of jazz great Salome Bey and just what “(S)Cream” – (Scream or Cream, whichever you feel the need to do…) is all about.
