Guess who is coming back to The 6ix after a long 10-year drought?
And guess who will be representing Toronto’s ever dynamic soul scene during the show?
The crew over at iLive Radio is presenting a dope soulful bill that will most likely have everyone talking for a time to come. On Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 the Capitol Event Theatre will be host to Omar, Glenn Lewis and Lisa Banton, lead by the lovely Ivana Santilli and her band!
UK soul king Omar Lyefook aka Omar is known to bring the house down with his high-impact funk driven shows. Are you ready to hear your favourites “There’s Nothing Like This”, “The Man” and “Outside” come to life? Glenn Lewis is one of Toronto’s most beloved artists who for a time now has been dropping soulful classics like “Fall Again” “Don’t You Forget It” and “Back For More” feat. Kardinal Offishall. If you don’t know (and there’s no way that you don’t), now you know. Ivana Santilli is also part of the veteran Toronto soul alumni who will be fronting the vibes with her band. Perhaps we will be privy to some of her new pieces or some of our favourites like “Sun+Moon=Tomorrow” or “Breathe inn”. And lastly, Lisa Banton has recently been added to the bill and that was a solid choice indeed. Lisa has been putting in work since 2009, and her recent release Lost & Found was on my Best of 2015 list. Tracks that I am definitely hoping to hear: “Let You Go” and my favourite “The Only One”.
