Soulsters, it’s Monday so why not start the week with a little somethin’?
I’ve been giving away tickets recently to my American fam, so it’s only fair that I show some love to my Canadian fam too! And I’ve got just the thing for y’all.
Dwayne Morgan is a well-known poet, speaker and event producer in these Toronto parts. Never a stranger to showcasing new local talent to the masses, Dwayne and his Up From The Roots crew have annual shows for your entertainment that everyone can enjoy. If you’re a lover of poetry, he has poetry slams and events for your pleasure (When Sisters Speak etc.). If you’re an avid reader, Dwayne has sensual and thought-provoking poetry books to keep you busy (The Making of a Man, Cunnilinguistics the Sensual Musings etc.). And lastly, if you’re a music lover, he has talent showcases to whet your appetite – just like this one.
Here enters the first annual The Art of a Woman Showcase. On Sunday, September 4th, 2016, Dwayne is introducing us to a new showcase where he is focusing solely on female artists and their work. I’m all for it! The show will feature performances by Ammoye, Melanie Durant, Lex Leosis, Natasha Waterman, Xolisa, Jennie Laws and Paulina O’Kieffe. All of these ladies are bad in their own right, therefore all of them on one stage during one show? Sounds like a must see to me.
