I’m going to come right out and say it—Toronto, you’re spoiled.

Truly.

Toronto is home to many internationally-known musical talents—especially in the soul and R&B categories. That says plenty. While I won’t get too deep into the argument about the lack of support Canada and Toronto have for artists who fall under these brackets,  I’ll just say that it’s no secret that we have to support our own. Always.

I’ve come to learn over the years that Toronto is a tough crowd to break. It can even be impenetrable at times. But as a creative, if you’re able to go beyond and have longevity, love, and genuine support over the years, it speaks highly to your relationship with the city and fans. I think the inaugural Toronto Soul Festival addresses this with its fantastic concert lineup and one-stop shop for music and culture—a celebration of Canadian Black culture on the whole. It’s time to #FallForSoul.

With a favourable mix of OG and up-and-coming talent, the Toronto Soul Festival, presented by Iconic Arts & Entertainment, will be taking place on Sunday, November 19th, at REBEL Entertainment Complex. Let’s talk about the lineup!

The Queen of R&B, Jully Black, internationally renowned and Grammy-award nominated Glenn Lewis, the soulful Ray Robinson, and R&B juggernauts DVSN will serve as the headliners.  Everyone’s favourite crowd-pleaser, Recipee Band and friends will be on deck kicking it with OH! – The Artist (Omar Lunan), gospel powerhouse Patricia Shirley, Témi (Untitled), violinist extraordinaire Yosvanii and Indie Week Emerging Artists Cerae and Sofinari.

That’s not all!

We’re also in store for some sweet jams courtesy of the TSMF SoulLIVE DJ Mixtape. On the ones and twos will be a fantastic selection of DJs, including Sweet Touch Foundation, 4KORNERS, DJ Spoonz, DJ Skitz, and rising star DJ BabyVaye. Lastly, to top it all off, the show will be hosted by none other than our beloved duo, Jemeni and Mark Strong.

It’s going to be a full day. Wait. Did I mention that this is a day concert? Even better for those of us who can’t keep up at night anymore. Doors at REBEL open at 4pm.

Need tickets? You can cop all that you need right here.  And I’m also happy to announce WE’RE GIVING AWAY A PAIR OF TICKETS TO 2 LUCKY WINNERS!
